History

Prairie Industries opened in April 1994 with eight employees and six thousand square feet of production space, providing inspection and sorting services for a local manufacturing firm. Since that time, we have grown to a workforce of over three hundred employees and one hundred fifteen thousand square feet of production and warehouse space at our main facility in Prairie du Chien.

In 1997, we expanded into the food packaging business with the acquisition of Nu-Pak, Inc. The Nu-Pak facility is located in Boscobel, Wisconsin. Nu-Pak specializes in portion packaging of cheese and ready-to-eat meat products. This facility is USDA, WDA, and US Military audited, as well as NFPA and Organic Certified.

In 2006, Prairie Industries expanded its services and opened up a second facility in Prairie du Chien to focus on our liquid filling business. This is a thirty thousand square foot facility with fully automated, state of the art, liquid filling equipment. We have an on site Chemical Engineer and qualified staff that is eager to meet all your liquid filling needs. We are excited and eager to grow this business.

Prairie Industries offers a wide range of packaging, converting, manufacturing, and warehousing services. This growth has been achieved through providing uncompromising customer service at a competitive cost. Our Quality department is second to none, as the number one goal is to put out the highest quality product possible, on time, and in an employee friendly work environment. We rely on our proven ability to meet the customers’ packaging needs, and the word of mouth from these satisfied customers, to continue to grow and expand our business.
